Tough week ahead~

Salam to all.

This week's gonna be a tough week and yeah, even today is hard.

Today: Meeting with MARA.
Tuesday: Bio test
Wednesday : Physix test + bio experiment (for Internal)
Thursday: Bio report writing.
Friday: ECA day and somehow I'm the person in charge.

Coming up:

PQA test.
Physix experiment planning thingy.
Chemistry experiment planning thingy + the experiment + the report.
Physix presentation (Quantum Computer).
ESL's Creative Writing.
JCU interview. (Alhamdulillah~)

Someone told me that the five most powerful word is:

Just a little bit more.

Yeah, I'll hold on to that~ Bak kata Sarah, "Anything to fly~"

River Blindness.

Salam to all.

River Blindness (Onchocerciasis)

River Blindness, or onchocerciasis (On-kough-sir-KY-A-sis) is caused by a parasitic worm and is spread by the bite of an infected blackfly. Multiple infectious bites are necessary for a person to get the disease. Infected persons may not have symtpoms, but a skin rash, eye lesions and/or bumps under the skin can occur. Eye lesions can progress to blindness.

River Blindness is found in thirty African countries, in regions of six countries in the Americas, and Yemen. Most infected persons are in Africa, and the disease is found most frequently in rural agricultural villages that are located near rapidly flowing streams.

I came to know about this through the prime time news. And I come to one conclusion:

In Africa, Allah tests its people with poverty, sickness and lack of everything.
In Malaysia, Allah tests us with prosperity, health and plenty of everything.

Both type of tests are not easy to endure.

And I will try to always remind myself that one day, Allah will ask me:

What have you done with all the prosperity, health and plenty of everything that I granted you?

To hear or to listen?

Salam to all.

During the Newcastle interview, while I was rambling on and on in a desperate attempt to tackle a question.. I said, "I love meeting new people because I know everybody has a story to share and I believe that sometimes we just have to listen.."

I have to admit that at that particular time, it was something that I just blurted out *like I said, a desperate attempt to say something*

But as I reflect on myself (in a way to study for ESL's Creative writing~) I do find joy in listening. I can endure scolding from my mom, I enjoy attending talks and dialogues, and I can just listen to anybody or anything as long as it intrests me. Yeah, it's nothing much, I know.

But what I'm truly trying to say is "I believe that sometimes, we just have to listen".

And don't forget what Ms. Param said, "Why do you think we have two ears and just one mouth?"

100. Between something and nothing.

Salam to all.

I hope by the time I press 'publish post', the countdown timer on your right will still have three digits on it's 'day'. In a couple of hour's time, it will become a two-digit number.

100 days to go. Like the good ol' SPM days, the teachers always remind us that if we minus sleep, eat, and play, among other things (oh yeah, Outing, haha!) it's like 20 days left.

So 20 days huh? To divide between 5 subjects. So 4 days per subject.

4 days? hmmm... 4*24= 96 hours.

Physix: 16 chapters.
Bio: 5 big chapters.
Chemistry: 6 big chapters.
Maths: 10 chapters.
English: err.. bak kata Reedo, no chapter. But still~

Therefore:

Physix: 6 hours per chapter.
Bio: 19 hours 12 mins per chapter.
Chemistry: 16 hours per chapter.
Maths: 9 hours 36 mins per chapter.
English: Errr..

Fuhh.. Looks like I still have time.

But wait!

What about trial exam?! It's gonna carry a huge percentage for Internal~ Oh God...

-Betulke aku insaf nak belajar betul-betul ni?-

Cuak-ing in Red.

Salam to all.

Yes, in an hour's time I'll be interviewed by Newcastle.

Really really really hope I'll do a lot better.

InsyaAllah.

Pray for me, will ya?

Of moms and dads.

Salam to all.

Just an update: I got rejected by Monash (I'm not sure if it's both Monash Clayton and Sunway or just Clayton) but Alhamdulillah I got an offer for an interview session with Newcastle this Thursday.

And with an account balance of two digits, I called my mom, telling her that today's Maths D.I. (directed investigation) is better than yesterday's (although I'm not that sure if I got the answers correct..) and said that I need some money (RM 50) to buy a professional-looking pants and a stunning shirt to match it.

I have to say that it's weird to ask money from my mom because I rarely do that. I mean, since I get the RM 430 allowance from MARA, I try not to ask my parents for money.. They should take a break right?

And so my mom deposited the money just minutes after my call.

I feel happy (of course, ^.^) but at the same time, I feel like I'm such a big burden. Even with my unsatisfactory result, she keeps saying 'Takpe, mummy tau kakak dah try your best' and each time she said that, I wanted to say , 'No mummy, I didn't.. I didn't try my best'. Which is true, I didn't put 100% effort in studying. I don't know what's got into me. 5 SAM subjects are like so hard for me to grasp. Logically, it should be easier right? I mean, it's not 9 subjects like SPM.

Hmmmm.. I still have time. It's not too late to catch-up. Mom, dad, please bear with me okay?

Our moms and dads are highly regarded in Islam. For:

(Hadis riwayat Tirmizi)

Obtained from this site.

Below is an excerpt from Galeri Ilmu Sdn.Bhd. 20 Amalan Murah Rezeki

I'm so grateful because Allah still grant me my loving and healthy parents. May Allah bless every single second of their lives and I prayed for Allah to reward them with the best things the world and the afterlife have to offer. Amiin. Only Allah can repay all their deeds for He is the Most Powerful and Most Loving.

Tahniah Malaysia!!!

Salam kepada semua.

TAHNIAH MALAYSIA!!!

Woohoo!

Keputusan paling gempak sejak 1981.

Walaupun Man.

Daripada serangan Man.

Cayalah Malaysia!!!

Semoga peningkatan yang ditunjukkan skuad Malaysia memberi inspirasi kepada pelajar-pelajar kursus Matrikulasi Australia Selatan.

Sekian.

Follow the stop sign.

Salam to all.

I'm in The Web right now -yeah,yeah, my favourite lepak place- even though it's a Saturday. The Welcoming New Comers thing is going on right now and I'm suppose to help with the food. Since my next task is in half an hour's time, I come and lepak-lepak here lah.

I'm suppose to be doing my revision for the up coming DI (pronounced as 'Die' if you ask me. Others pronounced it as 'dee eye') but I end up in front of the computer.

Why is it so hard to focus?
I can answer that.

But:

'STOP giving excuses!' - (dad, n.d)

'The only person who can stop you from succeeding is the person you see in the mirror. Nobody else can..' - anonymous.

Note to self:

Focus weyh FOCUS! Jangan dok mengelamun jeeeeeee.. Stop being STUPID! Enough already! Cancel, cancel, go away GONE!

Missing you.

Salam to all.

It's been a while since I post something beneficial for all.. So, here goes:

(Hadis Riwayat al-Tirmizi)

Renungan: Berkata seseorang kepada Umar bin Abdul Aziz: “Bilakah saya hendak bercakap? Katanya: Apabila kamu hendak diam. Dan ditanya pula: Bilakah saya hendak diam? Katanya: Apabila kamu hendak bercakap”.

I keep having this feeling of emptiness and I know why. But it's just hard for me to do that here. I want to be invisible so that I can go just anywhere. I seriously do.

I miss you Raudhatul Muttaqien.
I miss the daily congregational prayers there.
I miss the daily short tazkirah after asar.
I miss the weekly tazkirah after maghrib every Thursday night.
I miss listening to live azan.
I miss the quran recital by the imam in every subuh, maghrib and isya prayers.
I miss the weekly recital of Al-ma'thurat every Saturday morning.
I miss the times when I'm alone there, looking out at the beautiful mist overshadowing the greenery. It used to be my hideout. My favourite place. Two years I spent there is not enough. My first prayer there was Maghrib, 20th February 2006. My last prayer there was Zohor sometime in early 2008.
I miss you.

Book Review : If Tomorrow Comes.

Salam to all.

I guess I'm not as artistic as I thought I am. I enjoy stories that are fast-paced, simple, mind-boggling and of course, adventurous. I won't waste my money on 'snail' stories anymore..

If Tomorrow Comes was written by the late Sidney Sheldon and was recommended by Zubet. After spending nearly a month reading it, yeah, I would recommend it to others as well.

Three words to describe it: Unpredictable, Creative, Straightforward.

So much for a book review~

Stupidity.

Salam to all.

Sometimes I just hate being me.

Salam to all.

I had a double dose of Transformers 2 yesterday. Hoho! Went to Sunway with Ikha and Sasha at around 2.30pm (I looooooove Tuesdays!) and watched the 3.00pm show. After that, went window shopping just to please our total of six eyes... Prayed Asar and continue window shopping~

Ikha said she's not that comfortable driving in a jam-packed road and so we decided to watch another movie to pass the time. And there's no other movie that creates the 'wow, I wanna watch this' effect. Ikha and I thought of going for the 18++ horror movies (in a way to celebrate my 18th birthday, haha!) butttt... we have someone 'under age' with us, who (in which we are not surprised) wanted Ice Age 3. Finally, we get another round of Transformers 2.

Oh yeah, my poor sick one-year-old baby had been sent to Hospital Pulau Pinang and yesterday I got a direct call from the Head Surgeon. He said maybe my baby got something like meningitis and he wanted to discuss options which includes to brainwash my baby. I'm not sure if he discussed the case with the specialist at Dell's Hospital. He asked me if there's anything important in my baby's memory because the brainwash will make the baby forget everything. I was sad but I think that's the best option and thus, I gave my consent. I hope she will still remember me. Because every night I wish she's here at Casa with me... T.T

Oh yeah. I found this in my senior's blog. Haha.

First of all, Happy Birthday Manissa! I'm really really grateful the day I found out that you will be here in Taylor's with me! And I hope that we can go to the same Uni InsyaAllah..

Talking about Uni,
Congratulations Ikha! You'll be flying to Michigan soon! I'm so happy for you! =)
Don't be a cry baby ok? I know you'll enjoy your days there!

I know the news kinda 'basi' already but still, Congratulations Kay Ay! 4.00 giler! Hebat! And he'll be flying soon.

My ICPU friends will also fly sometime soon. It's great to hear that some of them got like 6 offers and perhaps more... Hoho.. It ain't gonna be that easy for me..

I was alone with my dad in the car last Sunday and we talked about studies. Well, what else to talk right?

And in the middle of the talk, I suddenly realised that there was tears coming from my eyes. I don't know, maybe because moments like this is rare. Maybe because I just realise that what I do all this while is not enough. I can do better and he sure deserves better result from me.

Change your strategy.
I will, Daddy.

Penat tahap photon.

Salam to all.

Just found out that there will be a physix practical today. Masuk internal ke? Penatlaaaaaa.....
As usual, I'm clueless~

And not to worry, I'm not gonna take up Engineering, no no..

Scholarship dapat free dari Khazanah ke Petronas ke even UNESCO sekalipun, hoho.. no. no.

Not engineering.

Heh.

Cannot take caffien because Shahrul told us all that it will cause constriction of the blood vessels and therefore less blood flow to the brains. I think that's what he said~

I just love physix. But not the report writin and experiment thingy. And CALCULATION.

Heh.

Salam to all.

Fighting is prescribed for you and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth and ye know not. (216)

There's a loooot of things in this world that we love but they're not good for us. Take facebooking for example. Yeah, it's excellent for networking with friends and all but if we spend too much time on it, what can we gain? Don't take it too hard, this is more of a reminder to the typist, haha..

List of things I don't like but I know it's good for me.

  1. Washing clothes.
  2. Doing homework.
  3. Wake up early.
  4. Climbing the stairs every evening because my lovely juniors pun sebok-sebok nak duduk casa.5. Put limit when socializing.
Whatever it is Wany, you're born to be Allah's slave. Not Desire's or Syaitan's.
Just keep yourself busy. And it will go away.
Because Allah's promise is the sweetest.

The third visit.

Salam to all.

That's the third time I set foot on Monash Sunway's ground. I've always liked that place, modern, neat and yeah, 'grand' -as Helma put it-.

So yeah, the interview.

Panel 2, 2.30 pm, 2 interviewers, both Malaysians, one lady, one man. Nice.

They asked me something like these (not in chronological order):

Part 1. (I didn't include my answers to some of the questions because I kinda forget what I said~ and because of 'kurang rajin' too. Not 'malas' okay? Just 'kurang rajin'.)

Tell me about yourself.
Why do you want to become a doctor?

Tell me about your co-curricular activities while you're in 2ndary school and taylors.
I participated in Young Entepreneur Club when I was in MRSM Langkawi.. We organised a lot of projects.. I learnt a lot from my involvement.. I have to work with local authorities, work with my teammates..

Do you get yourself involved in sports?
I started to join taekwondo since I'm in Taylors... I practiced hard.. got medal.. I also enjoyed archery.. I played with my friends at Sunway~

What are the qualities that doctors should have?
To me, a doctor needs to be objective. He or she should focus on the patient

Do you think you have that quality?
(dengan perasannya) Yeah, I believe I have those qualities..

Do you face any difficulty when moving from 2ndary school to college?
How do you cope with that?
Do you have a different strategy?

I'm going to ask a question about religion, are you okay with that?
Yeah sure.

Alright, are you comfortable when performing physical examination on the opposite gender?
Yes, Islam does put a limit that as a lady I cannot simply touch a person of the opposite gender. But I believe, as a doctor with knowledge to cure a person, that would be an exception, no matter what gender that person is...

What are the difficulties that doctors face on a day-to-day basis?
Doctors are always busy. How are you going to cope with that?

What qualities must a leader have?
A leader must listen to his teammates. He must be able to make his teammates work together harmoniously.. ...

What makes a good teammate?
What does your interest in business got to do with becoming a doctor?

Part 2.
The text given was about depression..

Summarise for me the text you've read.

Do you really think it's depression? <-- at this point I was like, oh oh. Is it really?
Yeah, from what I've read... I think the symptoms are that of depression..~

Does depression only affects adults?

Part 3.
The stimulus given was about Exothermic and Endothermic reaction.

Okay, explain to me about this.

(Although I'm glad to get that topic but at that time, my brain was like not functioning well. I keep repeating my answer like what la!)

Overall opinion:

  1. I keep repeating my answer. Hish!
  2. I didn't mention about any of my volunteering things. Did I lose points over there? Nevermind lah. Forget it.
  3. I think I talk rubbish too much. Haih~
  4. I didn't quite look into the interviewers eyes~

Next time, be more prepared!

p/s: Thanks for the birthday wishes ya! I really appreciate all of them! =)

Har.Har.

Salam to all.

Why do you want Monash Sunway?
I feel it in my bones, so I will let it be known.. No matter where I roam this is home sweet home... wahahaha!

Five surgeons were taking a coffee break and were discussing their work. It was an interesting conversation.

* The first surgeon said, “I think accountants are the easiest to operate on. You open them up and everything inside is numbered.”

* The second replied, “I like to operate on electricians. You open them up and everything inside is color-coded.”

* The third added, “I think librarians are the easiest to operate on. you open them up and everything inside is in alphabetical order.”

* The fourth one boasted, “I like to operate on lawyers. They’re heartless, spineless, gutless, and their heads and their butts are interchangeable.”

* Fifth surgeon said, “I like Engineers. . . they always understand when you have a few parts left over at the end…”
