Monday's blurb.

I'm wearing baju kurung today, perhaps for the second time this year... And after soooo long not wearing it, I walk kinda awkward in in. God, and I said I'm a perempuan Melayu.. Haih~
The past weekend was okay I think. Oh yeah, the Earth Hour.. Cis.. It looks like some Subang people forget that last Saturday night was the night. Some Penangites forget too.
Anyway, I can't wait to take my laundry and wear long pants and t-shirt tomorrow...
Progress on 2000 word essay: Currently- 720++ words.
36% completed. Still a looooooooong way to go.
Happiness is also a test.

I would describe the past week as a relaxed and happy one. Highlights include:
- I bought a basketball. Love at first sight. I love it so much! Colour: Orange, black and grey. Sukaaaaaaaa~ (Friday)
- I bought Zubet her birthday present. A guitar chord flip chart. I hope she likes it. (Friday)
- I helped Faiz to buy her Quran tafsir. I thought of giving it to her as a birthday present -last year punya, haih~- but I'm kinda short of cash at the moment, so.. Sorry la faiz~ (Friday)
- The dinner with my whole housemates at the first floor's kedai mamak. It's kinda special because it's the second time the five of us had dinner together 'outside' (Tuesday). The first time was at the 'Strawberry Cafe'. Haha! Sedapppp~
- The practice last Wednesday was the kind of practice I expected whenever the 1st senior lead. The side running and the bend forward, haha, just like last year.. Good thing the practice was at the ECA, which means that we don't have to run that far. I guess, sometime soon, it will be held at Metro. But who cares about the pain? As long as I enjoy the whole thing, right? (Wednesday)
To be tested with happiness is harder to face as you tend to be drifted while you're enjoying it.
'Allahumma a 'inna ala zikrika wa syukrika wa husni ibadatik'
Amin. (I'll post the meaning of the prayer if I can find it, InsyaAllah.)
P/s: Take a moment to reflect on the littlest things that can make you smile.
Love. Not the memory I want to keep.

"What does love mean? "
The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined:
"When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love." Rebecca - age 8
"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You know that your name is safe in their mouth." Billy - age 4
"Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other." Karl - age 5
"Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs." - age 6
"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired." Terri - age 4
"Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK." Danny - age 7
Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss." Emily - age 8
"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen." Bobby - age 5
"If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate." Nikka - age 6
"There are two kinds of love. Our love. God's love. But God makes both kinds of them." Jenny - age 4
"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday." Noelle - age 7
"Love is like a little old woman and a little old men who are still friends even after they know each other so well." Tommy - age 6
"During my piano recital, I was on a stage and scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore." Cindy - age 8
"My mommy loves me more than anybody. You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night." Clare - Age 5
"Love is when mommy gives daddy the best piece of chicken." Elaine - age 5
"Love is when mommy sees daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford." Chris - age 8
"Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day." Mary Ann - age 4
"I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones." Lauren - age 4
"I let my big sister pick on me because my Mom says she only picks on me because she loves me. So I pick on my baby sister because I love her." Bethany - age 4
"When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you." Karen - age 7
"Love is when mommy sees daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross." Mark - age 6
"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget." Jessica - age 8

Haha. I took the 'Are you boring or interesting?' quiz in Blogthings and my result was:
You are 44% interesting (which directly means that I am 56% boring~)
Cheh~ But it's kinda true, I guess. I bet my friends and my sister would totally agree. Haha.
Yeah, maybe I am boring. Kina asked me, 'Wany, hobi kau apa?' and I couldn't think of anything. Reading? Err... (Stakat textbook, sign board and description blakang ubat gigi... tu tak dikira reading, okayy?) Seriously I couldn't think of anything.
And I don't really watch tv, listen to radio, watch movie, Friendster-ing, Facebook-ing (I don't have one to begin with. Well, I did make a facebook profile but I deleted it after just 5 minutes. No privacy, so that's why I don't like it).etc.etc.etc...
But then again, I am still happy. A few days back, Nadia suddenly shoot me this, 'Wany, are you happy with your life?' (something like that la). I may be influenced by my cheerful mood at that time, but without doubt, I answered 'Yes.'
I may not be interesting and I may not be fun. But I do find a lot of things interesting. And somehow simple everyday things can make me happy.
List of simple everyday things that can make me happy:
- A smile from a stranger.
- My mom and dad
- A seat next to the window.
- Cold wind brushing my face.
- Getting my favourite spot at the Web.
- Fast internet connection.
- Able to write in my blog when the feeling strikes.
- Drizzle.
- An empty library locker.
- Wear my favourite trousers, my favourite tudung or my favourite T-shirt.
- Read or listen to something about the human brain. (Nerd giler. Haha)
Yesterday, I pity Athirah because she had to listen to me singing , 'I am happy, I am happy =)' over and over again. Obviously it has something to do with tkd practice.. Haha. Guess what?
My two Seniors were there! And we learnt sparring technique (my favourite tkd session)... Best ahhhhh! Anyway, it was too late for us to prepare for the competition organised by UiTM. 'I don't think we're ready,' (Beh,2009). It's okay. We'll be more prepared for the next one. Yeah!!!!!!
P/s: Try to make a list of things that can make you happy.
P/s/s: Sepatutnya essay 2000 words tu disiapkan. Tapi~ ter'blog hopping' pulak..
It's never too late.

I saw Daughtry's What About Now videoclip and halfway through, I cried. Again. I cried thinking how fortunate I am to be me. I cried thinking how ungrateful and demanding I've been all these while. I cried thinking about how some people willing to go to great length to lend a hand to others who are total strangers to them. How some people would fight against ignorance, poverty and epidemics.
My heart was really touched when I saw a guy in the videoclip giving out books to the children. I want to do the same. I want to be the end of ignorance.
But then, I must not be an ignorant myself. There's a lot of things out there that I know I don't know, I don't bother to know, and I don't know that I don't know.
I went to a dialogue recently. Professor Horvitz, a nobel prize winner in 2002 (Physiology or Medicine), presented his research on Apoptosis or programmed cell death. The idea is that, once we know the mechanism of cell death, we can put a stop to cancer. The dialogue was very enlightening. But it wasn't the research that thrilled me.
Professor Horvitz said that, ' I did my degree in Mathematics and Economics, and my Masters in Mathematics. But I thought that I might not give much of a contribution in those fields, so I registered for 'Introduction to Biology' course. I asked my Professor and said, 'Is it too late for me to start?' And he said, ' I did my Masters in Physics and my PhD in Physics. You're not late. You're early.'
And I was like 'WOW!' with a perfect circle on my lips.
The number one lesson I got from that dialogue is : It's NEVER EVER EVER too late for you to learn something. And that brings me to this (a quote from my english teacher, Mr. Chong Chin Foong):
'It's never too late or too early to learn something new' (Chong, n.d).
Adventure.

Monday.
Adventure to Strawberry Cafe. Hahaha. (Love that beautiful wedding dress!)
Tuesday.
Adventure to UM!
Attended a dialogue by Professor Horvitz, a Nobel prize winner. I find that dialogue interesting and new. I tought it would be something like a talk in a big hall but it turned out to be like a meeting of brilliant scientists in a room... I will not regret this ever.
Met Farihan, old friend from Seri Permai.
Met Faseeha, old friend from Langkawi.
I thought I saw Haryani and I even waved at her but I think I got it all wrong.. Aiya, who cares?
Wednesday.
Did the potato experiment.
Submitted Chemistry report. Finallyyyyyyy! Another tonne lifted.
I enjoyed tkd practice but I have mixed feelings about the 360 degree jump~
I said a very stupid thing. Foolish and idiotic. And I even lost a friend.I hate it. I just HATE it. I lost a good friend once and I lost another one today. Why can't we talk like we used to? Why can't we say hi like we used to? Why can't we show that we know each other ? Why must we pretend like there's nothing between us before? Why? Why? WHY? Answer me! Please... You both mean something to me and you're there during my crucial times... Please.. Let's be friends again, shall we?
Thursday.
Did my favourite titration experiment. =)
Biology write-up- done.
Submitted the first physics outline.
Did a presentation on Dejavu.
(Today's kinda hectic right? I'm glad now that I'm done with all of them!)
Yeay!
One down, three to go. Yeah baby!

I feel like a tonne of weight removed from my shoulder the moment I submitted the Biology Human Awareness essay just now. Fuh~
Now, working full force for chemistry (due Wednesday~ Almost 94% completed. Just need to print everything and staple and submit and another tonne of weight will be gone
Then, comes the 2000-word english essay (draft was supposed to be sent today, but heeeeeeh~ I barely started..)
Today, soon-no-longer-to-be-single Miss Piriya gave us homework, a LOT.
No interesting story to share, so, good day and good bye.
My happy Friday the Thirteenth.

Alhamdulillah. Today really makes me happy. Why?
- My THIRD QTI - Alhamdulillah passed!!!!!! (Giler ah kalau tak pass gak, entah la nak buat cemana...) And so, I can book a place for my JPJ test..
- Mom bought me a new pair of 'college' shoe! =) Now I can gilir- gilir my shoe!
- I finished the last two episodes of 'Wedding'. I love it but I hate it. I love the fact that the story is sooooooooooo coooooomel, sweet and all those stuff. But I hate it because stories like that will make my head fly up up and away, reach the clouds and stay there for days! If I can choose a story for myself, I think I would choose this. (Obviously my head is not somewhere near Earth..)
- Alhamdulillah, Langkawi still managed to retain the title. Based on the SMS I got from Faizah (she said these come from Cikgu Apandi):
- MRSM Langkawi : 1.404
- MRSM Taiping : 1.5391
- MRSM Pengkalan Chepa : 1.5439
- MRSM Jasin : 1.6865
I have mixed feelings when I looked at that number 1.404. First, I'm happy because Langkawi still can achieve a GPS below 1.5. At the same time, I felt, 'Cis, diorang beat batch aku!'. (My batch got 1.44 if I'm not mistaken...) Haha.. Don't take it negatively.. I love my batch, of course I want my batch to still hold the record of the lowest GPS.. But, it's okay.. You guys did better, Uninety. Good job!!!
On a more serious note, I heard Ayah Lea was admitted due to some problem with his heart. I hope the doctors can help him recover, InsyaAllah. Rabbana yassirna wala tu assirna ya karim. Allahumma sallim sallim. Tok We is also not feeling very well, I guess. She looked tired this evening...
I can't wait to graduate. 2015 maybe?
Coordination, Skill, Patience.

Please please please pray for me. I will do my THIRD QTI tomorrow.
'Ya Allah, permudahkanlah segala driving test (QTI, JPJ ..) sahabat aku ni (Wany). Kurniakanlah coordination, skill and patience kepadanya dan untukku juga. Wa sollallah ala saidina Muhammad. Amiin.'
Thanks. I appreciate that.
I can't remember who but someone told me that we have to be specific in our prayers. As in, not just 'Ya Allah, kurniakanlah kejayaan kepadaku dalam SPM' but 'Ya Allah, kurniakanlah straight A1 kepadaku dalam SPM sekiranya itu adalah yang terbaik buatku. Innaka anta alimul hakim (Sesungguhnya Engkaulah yang Maha Mengetahui lagi Maha Bijaksana)
And don't forget to selawat. I've come across a hadith that mentioned that doa (prayers) that is not accompanied by selawat will be hanging at Earth's sky (langit dunia). I believe this hadith is valid because I've seen it twice on two different sources. Should I come across it again, I will post it here InsyaAllah.
Failure is an additional step to gain additional success (Syazwany, 2009).
Yeah baby!
On a different note, I think SPM 2008 candidates are lucky because they get their results on a school day. If I were to get my result today...
Accomodation : The bed behind the door (my cousin's- hahaha!), room 04, block Tanjung Lembung, MRSM Langkawi.
Food : Thursday : Arm's cafe. (malas nak gi jauh2) Friday morning : Kak Pah's nasi lemakk!
Friday afternoon : Join budak-budak gi outing la~
Activity : Thursday : Ambik result, jumpa cikgu-cikgu, lepak-lepak, main basketball, dengar ceramah Ustaz Wan (Oh God, I miss him!), tayangan~, star gaze.. (tak kot, sekarang musim hujan, banyak awan)
Friday: Subuh berjemaah, lepak kat surau, jalan-jalan keliling maktab (or panjat bumbung), makan nasi lemak kak pah + milo kotak besar, share stories (aka gossip~), gi usrah (ye la... bukan selalu..) and... Outing.. wahahaha (except this time I don't have to wear the STRIKING ORANGE baju batik and I don't have to ask Warden's permission).
Wany, life must go on..
Yeah, I know.. I know..
Way to go!

I can't believe it but yes.
I actually miss home cooked meals. All this while I've never been picky about what I eat. I just eat whatever avaliable. I've been taught that way, I guess.. Jangan complain pasai makanan.. Orang kat Afrika tu langsung tak dak apa nak makan.. Jangan buang nasi walaupun sebijik.. Habiskan semua, nanti dia nangis sebab kita tak makan dia.. Orang kat Afrika tu nasik sebijik pun diorang berebut tau.. (Lutfi, n.d.)
But yesterday Kakak Nur cooked ikan sambal (sedap sebab dia sambal), sayur goreng, telur goreng berperisa (?), fish crackers (imported from Kelantan; crunchy and yummy!) and of course rice. The rice was steaming hot and still retain its moisture (in other words, the rice is still 'lembik' and I love nasi lembik). What's so special you say? I don't know... Hmmm.. I just miss it.. I don't think I miss this while I was in Langkawi.. Why?
I can finally stop fighting with my sister. Guess what? Before this, we always fight, even a joke can turn into fight. And when we fight, our parents and neighbours suffer the most. If you guys know me in person, you will definitely notice my loud voice. Trust me, if I'm loud, my sister is way louder.. And so we fight, fight, fight, usually because I always mess up the room and my 'very neat' sister couldn't wait for a few minutes for me to tidy up.
When the fight gets out of control, I'm the one who stops first (although inside my heart, God knows what happen) because I pity my mom when she said with soft voice :'Tak kesian ke kat Mummy? Mummy pegi kerja penat-penat lepastu balik rumah nak dengar orang jerit sana jerit sini'
I always envy my cousins (Wahida and Khalida) and (Ikha and Lynn) because they seem to be living together quite harmoniously. They share clothes, stories, secrets but definitely not boyfriends la.. Haha.. Why can't my sister and I do the same? Am I that ego? Hmmm, I think so. Are we that different in terms of our interests and the way we think? (My sister likes stripes - I hate stripes-, My sister is obsessed about MCR and indie band - I hate MCR (i just couldn't understand their songs.. ) I like Westlife, Kaer and Vince!- My sister has a wiiiiideeee range of hair care products, creams, perfumes, necklaces, bracelets and all - I just don't really care, I go for the 'natural' look- etc, etc)
Maybe we got a little mature. Haha, that sentence sounds so funny..
Chem- lagi setengah
Bio- still kena edit
English - tak start essay lagiiii! Warrghhhhhhh!
Chemistry, Biology and English.

Yeah, the three projects.. Haih.. Bolos saja dinding ituuuuuuuu!
Thanks to Dalia, I now have the 'Westlife' fever again.. Haha..
What? They're like the best group ever!
I'm talking about the all-time favourites like 'I lay my love on you', 'Swear it again', 'World of our own', 'Fool again', 'Uptown girl'...
Yesterday we celebrated Naim's 10th birthday. Just a small occasion actually.. The cake was lovely! That lil guy got a new bike for his birthday.. Well, since he got that already, he won't be wanting anything from me right? Good. Keep it that way. I will give him something if and only if he performs well in his exam. I promise to get him a helicopter if he can get number one in his class.
To Zubet, I pretended to forget that yesterday was your birthday but I'm not sure if that tactic worked.. Haha.. For your present, choose between these two.. CHOOSE okay? Archery OR Bowling? But you must mention that I make this promise here in my blog. If not, no present for you lah!
Dangerous driver.

I'm not saying that I am sad because I failed my QTI.
I'm just saying that I am proud to become a dangerous driver, as described by the 'mean-looking' person who assessed me.
Oh yeah, you know what?
Enjin mati EMPAT kali.
Clutch punya pasai.
Bukit lepas.
Side parking, erk calarkan kereta orang sket (kalau ada kereta di situ)
3-point turn, tak sempat buat sebab:
FAIL.
